Technology in service of something bigger. Bring your code, your crew, and your cause.
For over forty years, our work has grown through people offering what they have. Some offered their time. Some opened their homes. Some simply brought a friend to their first course.
Over two days in Toronto, you’ll work on real problems that sit in the way of this work every day.
The volunteer whose offer to help goes unanswered. The teacher who spends an evening hunting for a resource. The person who felt something shift in a course and then quietly drifted away because nothing reached them at the right time.
These are solvable. They just need people who know how to solve them.
For 45 years, Gurudev has inspired people not only to find peace within themselves, but to turn that peace into service for the world.
The Art of Living began in 1981 with a simple vision from Gurudev: a stress-free mind and a violence-free society. What started as a handful of people learning to breathe has grown into a movement across 182 countries, touching more than a billion lives across well-being, education, rehabilitation, humanitarian relief, environmental restoration and peacebuilding.
In Canada, this work happens through courses, retreats, community programs, and the everyday effort of people who give their time. Much of it still runs on manual effort that better tools could take off people's plates.
This is where you come in.
You don’t need to be a developer. Students, designers, engineers, project managers, and volunteers who’ve never written a line of code all have something to contribute here.
If you can build, design, organize, or think clearly about a problem, you belong in the room.
Come with a team, or come by yourself and we’ll help you find one.
Apply. Build. Present.
Submit the application form with your details, ideas and challenge preferences.
Our organizing team reviews your application.
Selected participants receive a confirmation and next steps.
Join your existing team, or if you don’t have one, we’ll match you with other participants based on skills and interests.
Work with your team to develop a solution for your chosen challenge.
Submit your working prototype, source code, and required documentation.
Demo your solution to the judges and share your team’s work.
A gift card toward a program at our retreat centre. Two days of giving your energy to this work, and then a chance to step away and go deeper into the practices at the heart of it.
Two days. Your build. Real impact.
(Full schedule and format details coming soon.)
Teams of two to four work across the two days to turn a challenge into something that actually runs. You’ll have sample data to build against, meals, a workspace, Wi-Fi, and access to AI tools.
Your contribution makes the weekend possible and keeps what follows it alive.
Your gift pays for the room, the meals, and the tools every team builds with.
Teams get two uninterrupted days to build, with everything they need already there.
The solutions that work get carried into the everyday work they were built for.
